Par 3's in Kildare

    Hi,

Just wondering if there are any good par 3 courses in Kildare. There seems to be quite a few full size courses but not a huge amount of par 3 courses. I know of the following ones:
    • Liffey Valley Par 3, Leixlip, Co. Kildare.
    • Cardenton House Par 3, Athy
    • Red Lane Par 3, Newbridge

I know there is also the following which is actually in Dublin but is close enough. Has anyone played it lately? Looks to be a nice course.
    • Athgoe Par 3, Newcastle.

Has anyone got any experience of any of the above or any recommendations. The only one I have played on the list is Leixlip and while it isn't bad, I found it to be a little straightforward.

Are there any others that I have left off the list or are within travelling distance?

    Cheers,
    Dools

There is a great par three course in the heritage, just past monasterevan. You will find it hard to get another one that compares with it

Ive played Athgoe a good few times as its just down the road from me, its a grand course, some of the holes are longer than you would normally find on your typical Par3 or P&P course. Could possibly do with a few more features like bunkers or even a bit of water to liven it up but its grand.

There is another one in Celbridge, Elm hall, I havent played it before so cant comment on it.

    Hi,

Thanks for the replies. The Heritage course looks like it could be a nice course but a bit of a drive.

Didn't know about the one in Celbridge but might check it out sometime. Might pop down to the Athgoe one sometime as well to see what it is like.

Thanks for the replies so far.

    Any other suggestions welcome.

If memory serves me correctly, Elm Hall has a short p&p course, a longer p&p course & a 9 hole golf course.

That was certainly the case a few years ago, but it may well have changed.
