Just thinking, and a genuine post.

Are you guys for real? What sort of wanker would have to come on an Internet site and ask random people about their lifestyle and opinions about their relationships.

And a good percentage of the posts are hopelessly useless to an extent I pity any female that you enter into a relationship with.

I think you should all get off Boards.ie and get a life.

The "Gentlemans Club?". Get a life.

With advice on relationships sometimes a 3rd party like random people on boards will help you get a much better view on things then say a male friend and that you don't wont your close friends knowing all your business and what you get up to. With advice I have asked here before on boards on relationships they have worked out quite well and reading about others will give you ideas on how to make yours better so its very handy for that kind of stuff.

Say asking random people here on boards for ideas of where to bring a girl on a date is very good as people can help you with a out of the box idea that will be a good date. They will also help you on not giving a girl a very bad 1st date and so on.

Say asking advice on your lifestyle such as beards, haircuts and so on I will also add to the point a 3rd party is also good on this area.

The hole point of forum websites is to talk to other people with like minded intrusts as yourself and give and help advice to others when needed.

I don't think a online forum is for you if you don't like talking about stuff like this.

Maybe so, but you're inviting those by expecting lads to come on here and justify themselves to you.

The only reason I'm responding is because you've been a member a reasonable length of time and you've racked up a fair few posts. Surely in that time you've found boards to be useful for advice, you've contributed and also had a laugh, maybe even learnt stuff you didn't know before. I know I have.

What's so wrong with others wanting to do the same?

Actually, not all of the people on the site have lives. But PI, the Sports and Social sections will have you get a life.

    Well, one worth living anyway.

I'm waving the red flag that "Gentlemen" need to get out a bit more and find answers for themselves. "Gentlemen" won't find it on a website. Some may find this of some benefit, but in my opinion, hanging around on websites looking for answers is sick. Really.

But they do give us their advice. I've met a few of the older gents at beers, fundraising events, and sports (all via boards.ie) and they do impart their knowledge.

Without sharing what you know, you are wasting your knowledge, as bringing it to the grave serves no-one but yourself.

Why are you just singling out men and this sub-forum?

Why not every personal issue forum and sub-forum out there? You angry at men? Considering the aggressive nature of your first post and subsequent posts it would appear so.

This thread serves no real purpose other than to generate a reaction.

    Better suited for After Hours.

I think things started to go downhill with the introduction of the 'Ladies Lounge', there was a grand little community in beer guts and receeding hairlines. Then the ladies came along and said 'we want our own club'. And no sooner was that set up then the 'gentlemen' wanted their brandy and cigars club, ...

Advice on beards?! Grow one. or don't. But if you can't make that decision for yourself, you probably shouldn't...

    Trying to understand your position.

You think that people seeking advice and opinions are getting inferior quality responses than they would were they to seek out advice offline?

This fact either saddens or enrages you or makes you feel pity for all parties involved.

Is that a fair assessment of your position.

So, what is you actual advise?
Mine would be to have a good fry up in the morning, will help with the hangover. I know angry vodka posting when I see it.
Actually, the best hangover cure in the world is to eat a jar of pickled herring.

OP, you still haven't really explained why you've spent so much time on this forum (boards.ie generally) if you find it so distasteful. I would honestly like to know why you've bothered when you feel so strongly negative about the site. Or did something happen recently to change your opinion?

I'll agree that there are plenty of posts, forums, and users on here which I find irritating, pointless, and annoying (in that order), but it is in general a fairly helpful resource if you have an aversion to the current standard of "real name attached" social media. Sometimes it's useful to seek advice from uninvolved parties, and can also be very freeing to be able to engage with people without them knowing most of your personal information. It's difficult to do that anywhere else these days.

Of course it has its flaws, but what in this world doesn't?

So why are you just focussing on this sub-forum? Why not all sub-forums of boards which deals with personal issues?

You seem to be making general statements yet focussing purely on men.
