New to UPC

I have recently been set up with UPC broadband and when I do the speed test it appears great (compared to what I had 45mbps v's 2mbps) but when browsing the net pages are so slow to load. It also appears to drop on a very regular basis. I am within the cooling off period and think I might cancel. Even though the old BB was slower when doing the speed test, pages loaded quicker and was more reliant.
Is there anything I can do to improve it - buy a new modem? I have restarted the modem (on a regular basis).

Anyone have similar issues and have it resolved?

    Thanks for any responses.

Are you connecting over WiFi? Is it as slow if you plug direct to the router

Contact UPC to try resolve it?
wifi isnt going to achieve what hardwired can, have you wired it to the modem and determined if it is different/the same?
    different, wifi issue?
same, either some problem from UPC, the Modem or maybe your laptop?
Can you try another device/laptop to compare to try narrow it down?

Thanks for responding. Mostly WiFi. Have tried wired also for only a few mins and similar issues but don't want to use cable. We want it mainly for phones/iPads.
Also tried support earlier and unable to get through and webchat was busy.

Is your wifi 2.4 or 5GHz? (you can tell by logging onto the modem)

It's 2.4. Not sure how to change it.
