I have noticed quite a few rude words being said on air by the new generation of 2fm jocks, in the last 3 days I have heard ****, Bollox, vagina, penis, dickhead, pussy.

Since when are vagina and penis rude words?

Since Father Moriarty and Bishop O'Toole said it was.

    Vagina.

    Penis.

Sounds to me like they're made to go together.

Are we back in the 70s? So what's your opinion on this OP

I can remember G Ryan swearing on his show back when I was a child in the 90s. So this is hardly a new phenomenon.

One of the radio stations in New Zealand used to have 3 from Metallica at 3pm & they played

So I think the odd swear word on RTE isn't so bad

We have extremely lax (thankfully) rules on what can/can't be said on air - take a look at how few BAI complaints are upheld and so on.

You'll hear far worse in five minutes outside amongst the general public.

When talking about actual swear words like bullsh1t I suppose some may think that it makes the station feel a bit low rent.

Personally I listen to so much Opie and Jim Norton, Howard Stern etc that it wouldn't even register with me.

Oh wisha wisha wisha. If only we listened to dear old Eamon DeValera and John Charles McQuaid when they warned us about the evils of the wireless.

A few months back I was listening to RTE1 during the day and they were reviewing albums including the latest from Dr. Dre. They played a clip and it was all "**** bitches, kill ******s" etc etc

If that shocks you, you'd better keep out of French supermarkets if you're ever on holidays here. They're always playing rap music with all the motherfkkkrs left in ... and there'll be children in the aisles singing along with them ... :pac:
