    As the title asks.

Was onto Vodafone there about getting broadband into my newish build. Phone line not connected yet etc.

A few houses around me (2 miles from a larger town if means anything) are getting up to between 4-5Mbs and he did a line check on my parents for 4.8Mbs.

But I'm wondering what would this actually give me in real terms? Someone said you can expect 80% of that but is that bull?

I'd have to commit before I know what exactly I'd be getting.

    Cheers

80% is probably the best you could hope for, so around 4Mb during off-peak hours..

Biggest issue on the older exchanges is congestion.. The 4Mb you might be getting at 9am in the morning will be well below 1Mb after 6pm in the evening.
