Do JobBridge openings have the advertised?

I just saw a internship popup on the JobBridge official database in a company that I'm interested in, I emailled my application letter and CV, and got a reply to the effect that the role "might already be filled"

Could it be the case that internships have to be advertised and they already had someone in mind?

Yes, it could simply be that companies policy to advertise

You don't have to advertise the position if you have someone in mind who qualifies for Job Bridge.

excellent, that makes sense, so the reply I got is probably a polite PfO,
ouch, how bad are things when I can't even work for a company for free! lol

Not sure why they bothered advertising in that case though - it's not necessary.
