VRT Manual Assement by Revenue Timeline.

    Hi,
    My Manta was in the VRT / NCT booking this morning.
    Its over thirty years old.
    But Since Opel Manta is not listed by the Revenue it has to to have a Manual Assessment by them first.
    They are to ring back with a quote.
    How long should i expect the revenue to get back to me with a quote?

    Over 30 years old is 200 euro no, why do they need to give a quote?

    They will come back to you in less than a week. And I have no idea why they do this, as you already know the figure they are going to charge you.

    I'm expecting it to be 200 euro.

    Due to their system not having Opel Manta OSMP appraisal listed.
    To be honest i think its a excuse to add to their database of car valuation.

    Bureaucracy at its greatest.

    you would think they would be organised enough to not have to send off a request that takes a week just to list a new car on their system. Why not Just let the staff in the center do this? totally backwards public sector thinking.

    Now I'm no VRT examiner, but it is mad that it can't be done there and then especially when it is definitely going to be the flat 200 rate

    Normally anything vintage is done there and then, but I dont know of anyone bringing along a vintage that's not on the system.

    Its a pain in the hole too since they started removing Japanese imports from the system and leaving you in total limbo as to what the price will be. Revenues reasoning for it was the car's are hard to value with so many coming in, but surely they are able to come up with an "average" price from the data they have collected from previous and recent imports and put the prices back online so people at least have some idea what to expect.

    I've done two, but they were done by the Revenue.

    It'll be no stat code. They ask the Revenue for one. Revenue just gives them a dump code to use.
