Water Quality

    Hi,

On Saturday 15th August, I turned on my tap, to find the water to be brown. See image IMG_4427 attached. This was noticed after lunchtime. Later on in the day, the water quality had improved, but only slightly, as can be seen image IMG_4428. I checked with my neighbours to make sure it wasn't a problem with my own house, and they had the same problem.
On Sunday, the water was clearer, but not 100%. It looks ok now.

I am located in Grannagh, in South Kilkenny, near the river. (I don't want to be more specific on a public site)
    Can you please tell me
    a) What happened?
    b) Is my water safe to use?
    c) Will this be reflected in my next bill?

    Hi CardBordWindow,

    Thanks for your query.
I am located in Grannagh, in South Kilkenny, near the river. (I don't want to be more specific on a public site)
    Can you please tell me
    a) What happened?

We have had no reports for that area on the 15/08/2015. If you are still experiencing water disruptions, we can look into this matter on your behalf. If you wish, please send the following information via private message:

    - Name;
    - Address and
    - Contact Number.
    b) Is my water safe to use?

I cannot confirm or deny this without investigating this matter further.
    c) Will this be reflected in my next bill?

This will not be reflected on your next bill. The only time one will receive a discount on their water services is when their water is deemed unfit for human consumption by Irish Water.

    I hope this information helps.

If you have any further queries, please don't hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards,
    Kim

    Hi Kim,

    Thanks for your reply.
If you have no reports for that time, then that's fair enough. The water seems fine at the moment, I was just curious.
Can you tell me if there is a number I should ring if this happens again?
