    Hi guys,

I’m the groom and currently organinsing "the wedding". We are located in the in the Cavan/Meath border.

We currently live together and have two children. We are looking at a civil cermony with just Bride, Groom and two kids.

My ideal plan would be to have the wedding in a venue that will be around into the future. This rules out hotels, etc. I want to be able to revist the location in future.

Has anyone any ideas of any locations I could use in the scrounding areas.

    Thank you all in advance...

What about the Millhouse in Slane? http://www.themillhouse.ie/index.htm

Haven't been to a wedding there myself but a family member was and they thought it was really gorgeous.

Yeah here would be a fab location. Think they are quite obliging to civil weddings too.

I know you said just bride, groom and two kids, but you'll need two witnesses as well. Not an issue if your kids are over 18 obviously.

Looking at Loughcrew Gardens, Oldcastle Co.Meath...

Emailed the OPW so expect to hear back shortly... Was speaking to a lady on the phone and she was very accommodating

I guess I better share the information with the future bride???!!!

Loughcrew has a fab passage tomb. Up on a big hill. They give you the key to it and all its amazing :-)
I wanted to get married inside it but elderly relatives etc wouldn't get up the hill. Loughcrew is an really cool place.

I was coming on to say Loughcrew. However,it would not be the cairns they are offering, rather the Loughcrew estate with old St Oliver Plunkett church onsite. I am from there originally and always wanted to get married there. Our numbers wouldn't allow. I'm guessing it was Emily you spoke with.

That's correct - It's the church onsite in the gardens that I had in mind. It looks like it has my vote - Brining Ms Laurpat this weekend to view... V Exciting!

With the 3 mths notice required I'll prob wait unit the spring/summer time at this stage.

The gardens onsite would make lovely photos. I would be wary though as there is no roof on the old church so very sketchy for weather. Make sure they have a viable alternative ceremony site if it rains.
Confused by the last part of your post about three months notice and waiting?
