    Hi everyone,

I know you're probably sick of these, but I'm looking for recommendations for a laptop for university.

My budget is in or around €450. The primary uses will be researching and writing essays, lab reports etc, and then some general browsing, Netflixing etc in my downtime. So I don't need a discrete GPU. I don't need much storage either (my home PC has plenty), but I would like it to be a zippy machine, so an SSD would be nice. I'm up for installing my own if needs be.

Can laptops be bought without an OS? If so, would I be able to save some money going that way (I have an unused copy of W7 here)? If they're only available with the OS installed, then disregard!

As regards the screen, 1080P would be nice, but it's really not essential. In terms of physical size, I'm open to suggestions. Generally, I'm hoping for decent build quality, above average battery life and good customer care should the worse happen.

If you need any more info, please let me know, and thanks!
