Hi. Does anyone know when runway 16 at Dublin will be in use next or when it is in use? Thanks.

When the wind is from the south.

It all depends which way the wind blows to which runway they use.

So keep an eye on the weather forecast and you will find your answer instead of a web forum.

The use of runway 16/34 is subject to two basic scenarios. One, been the wind direction, as are knowlegeble friend above has pointed out and two when maintenance is been performed on runway 10/28.
But bear in mind that maintenance is usually scheduled, whereas weather conditions can dictate change very rapidly.
A good way of finding out which runway is in use, is to use the Flightradar 24 website or app.

So an aircraft went around... hardly a 'major incident.'

In fairness "major" is how could I say it, a wee bit O.T.T :)

It was indeed a sudden "touch and go", which thankfully resulted in no reported injuries and to quote the article some "confusion", nothing else.

Now don't be going all "Daily Mail" on us.

I'm being utterly sarcastic ........ The SHOneT the Indo prints these days is just gob smacking. The aircraft went around for what ever reason, landed on next approach......end of and this gets A grade status headlines in a national newspaper. Cringe worthy and embarrassing sensationalist journalism. Apologies for the thread drift but it does concern as such Rwy16 today .

It makes headlines and that's all that matters to these journo's. I can just see her on her laptop googling wind shear.

No way to know for certain, it will depend on the wind direction, or possibly on maintenance or other factors that make the main runway unavailable for use.

If the winds are light, it's also possible that an aircraft coming in from the North will request 16 to reduce the distance remaining, but ATC may not allow that if there is a lot of activity on 10/28.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Without wishing to sound smart, no one knows. Asking the same question every day is ultimately going to be met with silence as many, me included, will get weary of hearing it. I know you're keen but relax and keep an eye on Twitter and Boards.

Keep an eye on the Dublin Spotters thread and FR24 thread for a potential heads up of a runway change.

Tomorrows weather looks to be unsettled with varying wind directions so keep an eye/ear on flightradar24 or liveatc and you might get lucky.

Ah jeez......close it off mods. It's like kindergarten now.

The use of rwy 16 and its permutations has been beaten to death here

I've asked once nicely for you not to keep blitzing the forum with questions and looking to be spoon-fed information and you're still at it. One look at FR24 will tell you its not 16 today.

If you keep posting in this style I'm going to start deleting posts as frankly it's extremely frustrating, both as a mod and as a user of this forum.
