Siblu - La Reserve

    Hi all,

I'm thinking about spending next years family holiday (2 adults and two kids aged 11 and 15) at the La Reserve campsite about 11km south of Bordeaux - http://www.siblu.ie/france/aquitaine/la_reserve.php

I'm familiar with Siblu campsites having stayed in Bonne Anse Plage and Le Bois Masson in the past but I'm not familiar with La Reserve and looking for some feedback from people who have stayed there in the last year or two.

It's a much longer drive from Roscoff/Cherbourg than the other sites I've stayed at but it looks a great site.

The positives drawing me to it are the facilities and quality of the site itself with it's own lake and (man made) beach, excellent entertainment etc.

The potential negatives are there is very little nearby in terms of restaurants or supermarkets and the nearest natural beach is a 25 minute drive apparently.

I get the impression that if you holiday in La Reserve you need to be comfortable with staying on site most of the time, eating on site etc and I'm not sure I could live with that for three weeks. I do like doing BBQ's but only every 2nd of 3rd day and we much prefer trying different restaurants than being stuck with a choice between the onsite restaurant (which hasn't gotten very good reviews this year), another BBQ or a 25 minute drive to a restaurant.

If anyone has stayed at La Resreve and can give me some feedback on the experience I'd be very grateful.
