Any folks doing an ashbourne/rathoath commute. How do you get across the M50 without landing in the middle of a three lane merging cauldron of cars on the n2 going north (as I did recently!).

There's a foot/cycle bridge you can access under the flyover by Joe Duffys garage which exits on the old N2.

Turn off early near Lidl (or further north at Charlestown Shopping centre). Turn left to cross the M50 and ride up the west side of the Airport. There you either go left for Kilshane Cross to re-join the N2 or keep straight to pick up St Margarets and follow the back roads to Ashbourne.

I done this commute daily for a while and have tried all variations.

The safest is to turn right at the roundabout beside lidl, ride towards Charlestown shopping centre, swing a left back towards Joe Duffy BMW, but cross onto the cycle lane at mc Donald's, and follow it up over the pedestrian bridge.

Coming down the dual carriageway and trying to cross two lanes to turn right at joe Duffy BMW was too scary as cars race the lights coming up to the m2/m50 junctions, and riding by the airport added too much to my 70k round trip commute.

here is the bridge in question - https://www.strava.com/segments/9092151. You should be able to work out how to get onto it.

Something worth mentioning is that the right- turn filter lights to Charlestown shopping centre (just before the m50) need to be triggered by a car. I've often found myself waiting an age through various light changes without the right turn light going green.
