opinions on this e60 ?

HI all,
this caught my eye tonight and am wondering what the general synopsis is on it? are the timing chains an issue on these models or is that a different engine? im hoping to trade in my beloved e39 530d

It's a UK import so dials in mph and kmh might be a pain.

The 4 cylinder engines are not as reliable as the 6 so ideally it would have been done if you were to buy.

It has the N47 engine so timing chain can be affected.
Ask the dealer has it been looked at, then get the VIN number and ask your local bmw garage can they inspect it under the bMW QE Program.

They may or may not offer good will to replace if required, some cars are still getting good will as we speak.

Otherwise it looks well, i dont like the SE models myself but thats a personal opinion.

It's no big deal. Cars had both here for decades here before 2005 and we managed fine.

OP, I wouldn't be buying that car unless it was confirmed if it had it's timing chain replaced already or if it was being covered by BMW.
