the right procedure for painting bare metal

    what is the right procedure for painting bare metal which will be spending its life outdoors. undercoat and overcoat? should a rust primer be used at some stage. also the overcoat will be blue. coop don't sell a blur undercoat- what is the next best undercoat to use light grey?
