Hows it going, Simple question here. My normal architect has taken ill and doesn't look to be returning anytime soon unfortunately.

I am getting silly quotes for drawing and signing off on a 30mts2 extension (at least from the prices Ive paid before). Its a very basic adaptation extension. Do the council require drafts and signing off by an architect or can I go to a draftsman for drawings.

In my experience the granting authority will seek sign off from an insured architect

Check with whoever is issuing the grant. May not be the same in all cases.
My experiences were with the the various Dublin councils.
