Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am going on a third date this week.

I really like this girl, I want to take her somewhere cool, were we can get to know each other better - somewhere different and not a pub.

Any ideas in or around Dublin?

Dun Laoghaire market in the People's Park on Sunday.

If the weather is nice it's great.

Can grab some lunch in the park followed by a Teddy's ice cream/walk the pier/swim at the Forty Foot.

Cinema is a crappy idea for a date. You're just sat there doing precisely what you shouldn't be doing - not talking. mailforkev has the right idea.

You should impress her by showing how you can coordinate yourself. Simply knock your elbows together and try to lick your ear. Works like a charm.

Go on a literary walk (possibly pubs involved).

I am going on a third date this week.

What did you do for the first two dates and how did they go?

What's her personality like? What are her interests? Has she done time? Etc.

    Dating tips:
    1) Don't ask the people of AH for social, interpersonal or sexual advice. The most hardcore regulars have no life, friends or partner other than AH-users.
2)Put a rolled-up pair of socks down the front of your pants. Putting them down the back makes it look like you've sh*t your pants.
    3) I threw a woman into the Lough in Cork one night/morning because "it felt like the right thing to do". Don't do that.

The walk home is very lonely though.

    Have a wash.

    Look presentable.

Don't be nervous, Chicks like a confidence in a Dude.

Be yourself, don't talk about yourself too much (unless asked) & ask after her her family (be sure to remember the names of her siblings/parents etc). Chicks love talking about themselves.

If she wants to go to the pub, so be it. Drunk Chicks have a tendency to 'put out'.;)

    Job done. Sorted!:)

    Chicks? Dude?

Are you auditioning for a role in a remake of Grease or something?

Ask her if she has anywhere she'd like to go?

    Say this:

I find you attractive. Your aggressive moves toward me... indicate that you feel the same way. But still, ritual requires that we continue with a number of platonic activities... before we have sex. I am proceeding with these activities, but in point of actual fact, all I really want to do is have intercourse with you as soon as possible.

Are you gonna slap me now?

I think it's nice that you are trying to think of something different OP. How about crazy golf (in Dundrum shopping centre) or bowling? There is a leisureplex in Tallaght.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,784 ✭✭✭KungPao

Weather permitting, how about a few Tennents by the Liffey? A doner kebab afterwards...will knock her bandy, my son.

It's been a while since I've been on the dating scene admittedly..

The fashions may change, but the end goal remains the same.;)

Bowling is great as it causes many many natural breaks in the conversation which gives you more time to think of witty or well thought out replies and things to say - which you do not get as easily in - say - a restaurant or something.

What about something with an activity like rock climbing,go karting, bowling or something touristy like the zoo, guiness store house or the wax museum.

Both give you stuff to talk about if it gets awkward and most people haven't done a lot of the tourist attractions in their own city.

The ghost bus is fun aswell or stand up comedy nights like the international,ha'penny inn or the laugther lounge.

Mini golf in Dundrum is another drink free option and you get to talk and have some friendly competition.
