It depends what else is on in the vicinity. Sunday mornings are generally more popular, but equally that means there is generally a bit more competition

I think Sunday's are better. I work Monday to Friday as does my wife and so Saturday is generally family day to do stuff with the kids, shopping etc etc. Sunday mornings are quiet and unless it's unusually long sportive, you'll be back by 12/1pm.

    Sunday
Prefer Saturdays gives you a day to recover before work again..
Example: Sean Kelly tour on a Sunday will be leaving the house at 4am to collect a gang to drive down to Dungarvan, Breakfast, cycle 160km regroup have a chat and food then drive home for about 6pm ish (has varied by up another 2 hours in the past)......long oul day for a Sunday... But Sean's a hardy ****er so its worth it.

    Hi,

From the point of view of a newbie event organiser www.oldvelos.com the Sunday makes most sense if you are using a community or business space that would otherwise be used. Also, selfishly, as most events are organised by volunteers Sunday is better so you don't have to take the previous day off work!

Hope you enjoy your cycles, be they Saturday or Sunday

    Brendan

It depends when summer is too. I love a Saturday spin

Saturday spin for me, like to have next day for recovery and to enjoy a post ride beer

would really like Saturday but I guess most towns and roads aren't going to be happy with it due to Saturday being much busier.

and also like shaka said it would be great to be able to have a few rewarding pints afterwards on a Saturday evening.
