i cant get sky go to run on my laptop. i upgraded to windows 10 and it keeps coming up as an error. using internet explorer and firefox both returned an error.

Is sky go compatible with windows 10?

If you want help with an error, it's a good idea to post the actual text of the error message.

I don't have Sky, but I believe Sky Go uses Silverlight on Windows. Silverlight does work in IE on Windows 10 (It doesn't work in the new browser, Edge).

This thread on the Sky forums confirms that Sky Go does work on Windows 10, but that there are a number of issues that may cause problems for some people.

    1) Silverlight doesn't work in Edge - use IE or Firefox
    2) A PC needs to be registered for Sky Go, and this registration seems to be affected by the upgrade, so you may need to re-register the PC (and there are limits in that process that you may hit)
    3) The EU required Microsoft to produce "N" versions of Windows that didn't include certain Media components. There is some speculation on that Sky Go thread that if you had an N version of Windows but installed the Media pack, the upgrade may have upgraded you to the N version of 10, and you may need to re-install the media pack, but there was no followup to that suggestion.

The error is: "An error has occured. The application must now terminate"

    Hi folks

Managed to fix it. It was due to the time and date settings on my laptop. i changed the settings to:

    dd-mmm-yy

    dddd,mmmm dd,yyyy

the upgrade to windows 10 automatiicaly changed the date settings and they must be changed again to get it working for some reason

spent half the day rummaging through the sky forum, trying different solutions and that one worked.

Its no longer compatible with Google Chrome. You should use a different browser such as Firefox or Safari.

initially i used edge (the windows ten browser). it then (when you type in sky go on edge) suggests using internet explorer.

it wont work on edge afaik

Silverlight is available as an ActiveX control and an NPAPI plugin. Chrome no longer supports NPAPI plugins, and Edge doesn't doesn't either.
Neither of them support ActiveX controls.

Firefox will still support the NPAPI plugin (auto-loading of NPAPI plugins will be disabled by default in a future version - you'll have to click on the plugin in a web page before it will work). IE11 on Win10 supports the ActiveX version of Silverlight.

    Go to www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight
