call one of the autoglaze windscreen companies they will have to look at it first, got windscreen insurance as there seem to be many hits on that photo.
new windscreen is easier to look through and not sanded due to old age.

    See the NCT Manual

    Your windscreen is divided into 3 zones A, B & C
Zone A : 295mm wide area swept by driver's wiper and centred on the centreline of the drivers seat. Damage max 10mm diameter allowed.
Zone B : remaining area swept by driver's wiper. Damage max 20mm diameter allowed.
Zone C :area swept by passenger's wiper only. Damage max 40mm diameter allowed.

Looks like your's might be in zone A (hard to be sure at that angle) and much bigger than 10mm diameter. For comparison a 10 cent coin is 19.75mm diameter.

It bang on 10 mm and yes it seems to be Zone A alright.
Want to fix it, just could have done without this week.
    Taxman needs to be paid!:mad::mad:

What car is it? I just had to get the widescreen on my Ford focus estate fixed last week. Cost just under €140 with Autoglass. Best quote I got

    It's an 2003 Audi A4.

This is the second time in my life I have a damaged windscreen.

The first was about 10 years ago on a Lexus.
I got some shock when I rang up to price a new one.
    €850!

There was a heating element in the screen so that made it so costly.
However the guy then told me they can give me one without a heating element for €180 I think it was..
So you can guess which I went for.

The heating element just more or less cleared the windscreen a bit quicker than normal on frosty mornings.
Didn't really mind losing the element considering the cost of it.

    They haven't fixed it yet.

    Fixed yesterday.
    They filled it with resin.
You can see a very small mark in the middle of the glass if you look closely but happy enough with it.

40 seems like a good price and it removes the bother of changing the entire screen wwhich has its own problems with leaks and is time-consuming..
    Who did it?
    Location?
    Did it take long?
When can you wash car again?

    Autoglass
    Cork
    10 minutes
Don't know about the wash but the lad told me that it's ready to go there and then.

Just noticed last night 2 of my tyres are gone out of date and the thread is only half worn.
Looking at Falken ZE 914's at €87 each delivered.
Anyone have those tyres fitted and how do you find them?

Also been checking out new insurance cover as mine is out on September 6th.
Looking like I am switching to a new company and what do you know....
    Windscreen cover it automatically included!!!:pac:

Ill probably never break a windscreen when I'm covered!!:pac:

I'd always opt for a policy with glass included, Allianz cover the whole car as well, not just the front and rear screen but sunroof as well.
Many Insurance policies don't cover the sunroof.
Full comp is usually only slightly more than the cost of TPFT and most come with glass cover.

I have the ZE914s in 225/45/18 on an F30 318d replacing the RFTs. Make sure you get the newer "EcoRun" ones.

I find them very good at ambient temps above about 10 degrees in wet or dry. When lower than that I found them to be nowhere near as good as the Contis I had on previously. In the snow/ice in Feb they were terrible so they are definitely a summer tyre. Wear is low and even - 13000 miles on them and still nowhere near the 3mm I change tyres at.

I'll probably look at replacing them with Nokians before next winter.

€87 is a good price, I think mine were €120 fully fitted.

Good to know, thanks for that!
Have you any experience with any of these tyres below.
I don't buy car tyres much so I'd be out of touch with them a bit.
The current tyres have loads left on them so I don't do much milage in the car.
Under 20'000 miles in 5 years.

Link to some tyres I'm am looking at http://www.oponeo.ie/tyre-finder/s=1/summer/t=1/car/p=4/bfgoodrich,firestone,kumho,uniroyal/r=1/235-45-r17
