Some cracking races today but the Pheonix is without doubt the best of them. It should be a huge pointer for the guineas next year.
Im going to take a chance on AIR FORCE BLUE reversing the result with BURATINO. That was only AFB's 2nd run whilst it was Buratino's 6th so i believe theres still more to come from O Briens but it will be tough so just small stakes for interest.
Over at Deauville im also taking a bit of a risk in the hope that the rest IVAWOOD has had since Ascot has done the trick and at 11/2 i backed him ew.
    1pt win AFB
    1 PT ew IVAWOOD

    gl with your bets today

One last bet Leicester 3.00 SIR JACK LAYDEN 12/1.
Since been given an opening hcap mark of 105 has tumbled down the weights and today runs off a mark of 82. At 12/1 in a 9 runner hcap there might be a bit of value on him today.

Noticed him last night. He has had 16 runs and only one suggests he is anything more than a 70's/80's horse. He was given an opening handicap mark of 84 after beating two in an Ayr maiden and dropped a pound before what must be a freak result in a 2yo G2. Hiked up a hefty 23lbs to 106 for that (nearly two years ago now) he has been dropping like a stone since with nothing to show for 10 runs.
He came closest in a Thirsk handicap two runs back but that course really favours front runners sometimes. Everything this year suggests he's still too high.

If he goes out the front again and Tom gets the pace right he might do it, there's a decent tailwind to help. If he finds that freak form again he could do it. But he wouldn't be for me.

In that same 3.20 race in the Curragh, Regal Power seems a very big price at 33/1. Runs off 56 today wit KJ leonard taking 10lb off. Won two starts back off 54 at Naas over a mile. Has won in the past of 72,71 and 62. I'm not familiar with the jockey though he was on one I backed last week and seemed competent. 13 runners now so mightn't be a bad ew poke.

Can't be having that Air Force Blue, those War Front Colts look an awful lot better than they go. I like Painted Cliffs, he wasn't hard pressed to win a good race the last day and should do best of the O'Brien horses.

Hands up, I was wrong about AFB. :) A sweet result for Coolmore.
