Worn dropout??

Anyone ever have a problem with worn dropouts? The rear drive side one seems to have a good bit of wear on it, causing the wheel to to push out towards the frame and its at the point where it rubs slightly when out of the saddle, the axle on the wheel in question is 5mm shorter than the standard and the frame is 4-5 years old at this stage, I don't think it's the qr,( I've tried a few different ones) mechanic says the wheel is perfect.
Anyone have any ideas of anything that could be causing it or any way around it?
    Thanks

Can you stick a washer on the inside of the drop out?

Get a shimano skewer, they've a big clamping force on them which should grip your dropout. If that fails use a washer or epoxy putty to fill in the bit that wore away
