Question About Efibre modem & Phone Connections

    I'm getting eFibre soon. I have seen the modem has 2 phone sockets on the back of it. Does anyone know if the phone line needs to be connected through the modem or can they be connected through the wall socket like they are at the moment.

    The reason I ask is, I don't want to use the modem/router Eircom supply as I have my own that can handle vdsl but it has no phone sockets in it.
