Have you ever had a great session in the gym, really felt like you put it all in and pushed yourself as hard as you could, you went for that very last rep and then did 2 more. You feel great in gym, have endless energy until, you walk out.
You are now as weak as a little baby kitten, your mood has dropped and your gym bag feels like it has a dead body in it.
How do you get over it,what gets you through the rest of the day.

Food and a nice nap. Then get into a bath with some epsom salt and relax for a while.

Stay at home and cry. Because I've pushed so hard I can't train for the next two days.

When that happens, I like to put on my pj's, curl up on the couch with some Ben & Jerry's and put on Sleepless In Seattle

You wouldn't feel like this if your diet/supplement intake was adequate, if anything, your doing more harm than good.

I admire the determination but train smart!

I dunno... I think Sleepless in Seattle goes hand in hand with training smart.

Good food, a pint of cider/beer for hydration (obviously) and being still like a vegetable till you feel energetic again.

I tell my work colleagues all about my killer workout while resting my beergut on their desk. They usually can't hear me due to how loudly I'm shaking my protein.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,596 ✭✭✭hairyslug

So I've got my pjs on (pants) sitting at my desk but I've told everyone I can about it, no one seems to care though, they seem slightly pissed that I havnt done any work.

I don't have sleepless in Seattle but i do have Marley and me, will that do

Just back from a one hour spin class in 35 degree heat. Am weak and possibly dying, but I had a banana and a bottle of water on the way back to work from the gym and then had a chicken & quinoa salad for lunch to get the old protein into me.

Cant bloody wait til 6 o'clock though :(

HA! You misunderstood me, its 35 degrees outside today and to be fair, there isnt air con in the spin room so I felt every one of those 35 degrees and then some :(

Where in the world is 35 degrees right now?

You have to remember that from an Irish perspective you may as well have said you were doing spin class in zero gravity.

I've just choked on my water Zillah! Heehee

Its 35 degrees in central Europe today, we've had the bloody longest heatwave ever this summer and I am fed up of it - I'm way too Irish for these kind of temperatures.

Lots of places I'd imagine. 35 is unheard of in Ireland, but it's not that warm tbh

Very few gyms on the European continent run spinning classes- really inteseted to hear of your class- that a new one for sure .......!

Really? My gym has at least two classes every day & I've been over here 8 years now. I know some of the gyms call it indoor cycling as opposed to spinning though.

Oh maybe it's the fact that's it's called that instead of spinning so! Sorry for confusion- my mistake!

Yes I do understand that 35 is not unheard of, I was just pointing out that chanelfreak is obviously not in Ireland.

Ah ok, I must have picked your time up wrong. I thought you were showing strange signs of disbelief.

after any workout that I do, as soon as possible (usually immediately after a workout) I will take a freezing cold shower for up to 10 minutes.. seems to do the trick..

example, today, I did 60 minutes on the turbo trainer, by the time I'd done.. the legs were aching so bad it was s struggle to stand up... 10 minutes in the cold shower and I felt refreshed ready to go again....
