Need a plumber

Moved into a different part of the country, I’m a stranger in these parts, and am in need of a (local) plumber. I’m avoiding saying where cos I don’t want to steer this conversation in the wrong direction. But anyone have any advice or experiences on how to get hold of an honest plumber? In the same vein, I also need my gas checked out.
I know I could look up the local golden pages or whatever, but so far my experiences here have been hit and miss.

It would be very difficult for anyone to recommend a good RGI / Plumber to you without knowing where in the country you are.

Try your local plumber supply shop ask them for a recommendation or adverts.ie have plumbers advertising their services and feed back from other users that have used their services

would agree with Anthony they usually know who to recommend and who to avoid

True. I like the idea of the feedback option on adverts.ie as well, the only thing is it doesnt seem to show how many folk left feedback and if they're active users, e.g. in that context 100% positive feedback could mean anything
