B6 Passat Handbrake (EPB)

    Hi i Have a problem with with the electronic handbrake on my passat for the last week. From reading up on it, the handbrake is a common issue.

    It makes a load groaning noise rear brake motor


    Anyone encountered this or have an idea what could cause this/ How to fix ??

    Gives this fault on the dash

    If one of the rear calipers is running continuously then the caliper will need replacing. To supply and fit a reconditioned replacement will be €300-350 depending on where you go.

    heard off a mate of mine it could be as simple as replacing the parking switch , doubt id get that lucky though lol thanks bud :D

    If it was the switch you wouldn't have that noise coming from the rear caliper.
