Want to get away with the missus for a week in September. I don't really mind where we go, I just dont want anywhere really trashy. Just hoping for some sun, beach, half decent hotel with a pool thats central and not miles from everything.

Going on to the usual sites its hard to tell what's good and what's not. I want to keep the costs down but nervous of the ones at 250-300pp - I'm guessing it will be rubbish. Do I have to Spend 50+pp for something decent?

Whats my best bet of finding a safe option for a low price?

check out the los jameos play in lanzarote, it can be expensive enough in september, but a fab hotel.... or check out www.clickand go.com , they have good deals which include flights and accommodition...
