    Hi all,

I'm thinking of going to Hockenheim next year for the German Grand Prix.
Have any of you been? Do you have any advice on where to sit?
I'm thinking of the inner stands A, B or C for a good view of the infield section.
Also, do you know if they do the Thursday Pit Walk at Hockenheim?

We were at the inner c stand in 08. right in the middle of the left hander. Was a good spot with the gp2's in wet race on the Saturday with lots of crashes but no passing in the f1 race on the Sunday. I see on the Hockenheimring site they are offering good seats at €99 here https://www.eventimsports.de/ols/hockenheim/de/formel1/channel/shop/areaplan/blockselection/event/57923?areaplan.x=84&areaplan.y=153&tribuneId= . You have to ring to get them.

Yeah, the best prices seem to be in that section. It seems you can buy online through the Hockenheimring website. I guess the hairpin is the best spot for overtaking but there are no seats there, only general admission areas.

I was at Hockenheim in 2012. Can't remember the name of the stand we were in but it was just after turn 1 with views part way down the start finish straight. One of the biggest criticisms of this race after 2014 was the excessive ticket prices -even by German standards - which resulted in large numbers of visibly empty seats. The outcome of this is that prices for the next race should be lower and the best value in seats will obviously come with early booking.

One thing I would say to this circuits credit is that for access and egress, it is the best I've been to by a long way. If you've suffered queuing at Silverstone or Monza then this circuit will be a welcome aberration.

Will the €99 tickets sell out before the end of September when the prices rise?

It's hard to know. You can't see on the website how many have been sold in that category. There doesn't seem to be that many sold in the higher price categories.
I went for the Orange category in Inner C Stand, €199 for the weekend. I'm hoping they still do the pit walk on the Thursday too.

I'd love to do the out walk too. It would make it an even better weekend

I went there last year (first GP!) and got seats a bit ahead of the start-finish line. I tried to get ones so that we could see the run down to turn two, but it was blocked by the pit walls. I think I only saw one overtake into turn one which was somewhat disappointing, but saw the chaos of one of the Williams flipping and a fire in GP2!

Even though it's far away from everything, the Mercedes stand is probably the best for viewing. You have a view of a handful of corners and all of the overtaking happens there. If I were to go again, I'd probably pick a stand a bit behind the start-finish straight however where I could see the Stadium section of the track while still being able to see what's going on into the first corner.

You're allowed to go to any stand you like on Friday except the Mercedes stand on Friday, but can't change on Saturday as well.
