Extremely Stressed About Exams

I have 9 tough exams coming up in about 4 weeks and I have to get a first in them. I have studied for most of them bar 3 modules.

My summer has been so ****e because of them. Couldn't go on holidays, couldn't take a very nice part time job that I landed after two rounds of interviews. I'm now starting to realize that I can't keep up with my gym program as it takes up too much time out of the week.

Moreover I can't go out with friends, chill with the family or pretty much do anything I planned to do this summer.

I study well one day. The next day I feel like I'm burnt out or can't be arsed. I need good results in these exams. People are counting on me to do well.

I'm feeling stressed as fúck. Just need some place to vent. Any tips would be much appreciated.

I don't know what I'm gonna do if I don't do well in them.

I've been a good student my whole life but don't know what's happening. So sick of this. This isn't normal exam stress. I'm having nightmares. Worst part is that if I don't do as well as I'm hoping then that'll mean that I'm an absolute failure and all the missed opportunities this summer were for nothing.

Any tips from people that were in similar situations would be great. Any inspiring stories. I feel like I'm just exhausted.

I need to do well for many many reasons e.g. masters program, internships, people counting on me, myself.

It's only 4 weeks. So you need to concentrate on your study and forget about all the things you cannot do. Id you do all of them you won't do as well, so you need to make a choice.

Once you made the choice, then settle down to a pattern of study that is well structured with regular short breaks. If you get stressed for for a 15 minute run. If it is important to you you need to immerse yourself in it.

You will find that once you are studying effectively and getting through the material you will feel more prepared and the stress will go. I know all this works, I have done it more than once. Best of luck.

It sucks that your Summer has taken a hit and you can't do all the nice things that you wanted, but don't forget that you'll have many more Summers after this one and as soon as your exams are over you can get back to doing fun things.

My own Summer has been taken over by illness and I've even had to cancel a nice holiday but what gets me through is that if I focus on getting better (which I will), I know I can get back to all the fun and happy things I wanted to do. I'm looking at all the positives of getting what needs to be done done as opposed to worrying about things that can wait (holidays, friends etc). And similarly I was hitting the gym like a madman earlier this year but now I'm pulling back a bit which sucks but given that I know everything is on a timeline, I can count down to when I can return to normal. Which you can too in just a few weeks. You can definitely do the same, plan some fun things for after your exams so you have things to look forward to, knowing that if (and when) you get through the exams, you can relax and enjoy life again.

If you landed a nice part-time job, you'll definitely land another the exams are out of the way. Maybe consider a small holiday in the autumn to make up for missing one in the Summer. And your friends and family will still be there afterwards, happy to hang with you afterwards. Most importantly, try and not worry yourself over failing the exams. You can only do the best that you can do and if you've gotten this far in life you'll do well if you settle down and study.

Think of all the positives that await you when you pass the exams as opposed to the negatives. Try and motivate yourself with the benefits of passing as opposed to the implications of failing.
