Right, so got a new SVE Leaf today. The home charger point is not being installed for another week so have got a granny charger on loan from Nissan in the interim. It has a continental plug on it so connecting to the house socket via an adaptor. It powers up fine. Connect to the car and the LED light at the charging socket in the car socket goes out and it makes a beep noise.
Inside the car, a green plug light illuminates for a while but then goes out.

On the charger unit, the "Ready" light flashes and that's it. None of the blue LEDs light up on the top of the dashboard of the car. It doesn't seem to be charging. If not, am I doing something wrong?

While car is parked, turn on the car. If it's charging, the first thing you'll see on the dash is info re charging...

Does your adapter include the ground? and is the ground pin on the adapter actually connected to the ground on the EVSE's plug? The vehicle does a check of the ground connection before it will charge for safety.

Using an adapter is not a good idea IMHO, they are generally not rated for the amount of current drawn by the car.

Also make sure the charge timer is off. First connect everything up and then hit this button to override any timers:

I seem to remember reading about a 30 second window for charging for some cable or other in the manual the other night. As in if you didn't have everything in place in 30s it wouldn't start a charge. You'd then have to hit the button again.
No idea where or what button that was. Will be in the charging section in the manual though.

Found the source of the problem.....the travel adaptor I was using and no earth on it so the car refused to charge. Gonna get an adaptor with an earth and will give it a whirl. Have used both the quick and slow charging connections since so defo no issue there.

Thanks to all for the help - Very much appreciated :)
