Product Leaving Wax Holograms

I gave my white starlet a good going over yesterday with a polish and a wax. I used Bilt Hamber's Cleanser Polish and Auto Balm and made sure to let it dry to a haze for 10-15 minutes on each panel and then buffed it off well. As usual I was doing my bit of detailing late in the day from about 5pm.

Now I haven't noticed any issues with these products on my previous car which was metallic silver, but when I looked at the car under the street lights tonight, I can see lots of swirls where the wax was applied - especially on the roof and bonnet - as if it wasn't buffed off right.

In daylight these swirls aren't noticeable at all and at any angle. A quick google tells me these are called wax holograms? It's fairly frustrating after spending 4-5 hours on the car to get this effect - anyone know what could be the cause??

Late in the evening, there is more moisture about as the dew starts to set it. The wax takes longer to cure, if fully at all, and buffing more difficult too. The holograms you see are where the priduct hasnt been fully removed. When you get a chance, at a better time of the day, reapply a very thin layer on the affected areas, and buff again; it should all the product and give you the finish you expect.

Thanks! The weather was looking good this afternoon so tackled the roof and the bonnet. Of course it started raining just as I was buffing off the last bit, so it'll all have to be done again.

It's nearly impossible to get any bit of detailing done in this country without a garage :pac:
