I reckon we all know AH is mostly for giving out about things! :D So here's a thread for nice stories going around the internet. Here's one to start off.

That was an incredibly sweet thing to do. It's nice that in this day and age people CAN still do something like that without getting into trouble for X, Y and Z. Admittedly, given some of the send-a-card-to-X campaigns went viral and caused sick children to get so many cards that the poor parents didn't know what to do with them, this could eventually backfire! But still, fair play to the postal worker and best of luck to Matthew.

    Hmmm

He has a bookcase, shoes, and what looks like a washing machine in the kitchen. I didn't even have any of them things when I was growing up and three quarters of the world still don't.

...And then, ofc, there's always someone that has to bring the cheerful conversation down.

*shoos!* C'mon, can't we all just revel in nice things happening for a bit without my having to go to the Sunshine and Roses forum?

Oh god, he'll have 90,000 copies of Harry Potter, Hunger Games and Game of Thrones by next weekend.

That is nice. He actually wanted to start a business selling second-hand books, and now he has free stock. Legend. :)

There's going to be millions of books pouring in on top of them.
It's like the story of the woman and the magic porridge pot.
I have that book actually - must send it to him.

A twelve yr old who wants to read rather than watch tv or play computer games. That makes me happy.

What do you all do with your old books?

I don't live at home, I live in a fairly tight apartment and it's not fair leaving stacks of books around for housemates to trip over. I've actually had to bin some in the past (I don't live in Ireland, there are very few charity shops, and they don't want English books). I think I'll use work postage to send this guy some classics, but otherwise, what do you do with your books? The ones you don't want to keep, that is.
