Car insurance estimate

I've been on to insurance companies trying to get a ballpark
estimate of what it might cost to insure a new Renault Captur
but they insist on a reg number and so on.
I cant buy the thing if I cant afford to insure one so how do I find out?

Are you doing this over the internet? If you don't have a Reg there's usually a link where you choose drop down options on the make, model, year, engine size, etc etc....

If you're getting quotes online, try going onto carzone or the like, get a reg of a similar one from an ad and enter it to the insurance co. website to get a rough estimate?
