Registry Office: Closed in Sept

    Looking for a bit of advice - we provisionally booked our ceremony for the registry office for September this year, on Dec 12th last.
    We had our appointment in Jan and confirmed everything then.
    On July 17th I picked up a rambling voicemail from someone saying that essentially the registry office is closed in Sept for maintenance, that our ceremony has moved to the Maldron Hotel, and that they'd send us the details in a letter.

    Today is July 21st & still haven't gotten that letter, so called them and was politely told tough sh!t there are no alternatives, or other options unless I want to pay a registrar to marry us offsite and cover all costs ourselves.

    I can't believe that having paid for this months ago, and booked it last year they can leave a random voicemail and not follow up on it! They're relocating us to a meeting room in the Maldron Hotel & it's just what we signed up for!

    Has anyone else been cancelled/relocated by them?
