The Argos one has a pretty poor CPU although should be ok for your requirements. RAM choice of 4/8 won't impact on your needs really. The monitor may not be great in terms of backlight bleed. To be fair I'm only speaking from my own experience of an Acer 22" that I bought years ago so maybe that kind of thing isn't much of an issue with newer (albeit cheap) monitors.

hi i am looking at these two computers http://www.pcworld.ie/Product/acer-aspire-xc703-desktop-pc/325764/397.0.0 and this one http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/3385746/c_1/1|category_root|Office%2C+PCs+and+phones|14418968/c_2/3|19780850|Computers+and+monitors|14419111/c_3/4|cat_14419111|Desktop+computers|14419114.htm

the only difference is one is 4gb of ram and has a 21.5 monitor and the other has 8 gb ram and no monitor,am i right.

i only listen to itunes and google stuff, and the kids watch a few movies.no gaming or anything like that.is the one with the monitor a better deal(i only have a 19" at the moment.cheers.
There's not a huge amount of difference in the performance of the CPUs.

For basic usage, I'd be inclined to say that the Argos bundle is a better deal - if you actually needed that 8GB of RAM, you'd probably the CPU in the PCWorld box to be a hindrance. If your current 19" monitor is a 4:3 monitor (as most older 19" monitors are), then the Argos monitor will be a bit better for watching movies - it's widescreen (though I assume the 1320x1080 resolution listed is a typo - a 21" should be 1920x1080).
