Anonymous activists say they will disseminate sensitive documents if the officer who shot James McIntyre in Dawson Creek, B.C., is not arrested by Monday at 5 p.m., Pacific time. That threat has also been made on social media and a government source confirms authorities are aware of the threat.

I can see this being fairly divisive but I'm interested in hearing intelligent arguments for or against this.

Personally I'd be in the 'for' camp; the information only seems to be revealing further corruption rather than posting the police officer's home address etc., it's not for personal gain and I think governments (especially ours) are great at doing whatever the hell they like irrespective of public opinion.

What's the alternative? Calls for his arrest have fallen on deaf ears. This is the police we are talking about. Extremely insulated; this is a problem worldwide.

Why would he be arrested? Didn't he shoot a masked armed man in the street?

So how does this work? Anonymous make a list of all the people around the world they want arrested for things and the police/other authorities do their bidding?

Why bother with police at all? Lets just let anonymous tell the army who to round up.

Well primarily because there is no proof he was armed, do we need to bring up Sandra Bland? Police will lie through their teeth to cover their own arses.

And secondly there is no report whatsoever of the victim having made a move towards anyone with said speculative knife.
