    Hi.
    I am looking at a 2009 Audi A4 tdi s line.
It has 100k miles on it.
The advert also mentions that the timing belt has been changed.
There is no mention of the flywheel having been changed however - am I mad to consider buying this if the flywheel has yet to be changed?
I'm assuming it will need to be replaced very soon & that I'd be looking at around €1k to replace this?

    Thanks for any advise

This is what happens when people read the internet too much. Check if there's any vibration in the clutch, any weird noises when you press the clutch in or out, any judder when taking off from stopped.

I've driven 3 different diesels for the last 8 years up to 150k miles in each and did not need a clutch or flywheel. Although on the last one it was starting to fail. However I've seen a Passat need one at 70k miles.

There is no set mileage at what a flywheel goes at.

If you are genuinely interested in the car use it as a bargaining tool.
Ive a 09 a4 myself with 135000 miles up and no signs of the flywheel failing
1250 is what it will cost to do.

Firstly, a flywheel just doesn't fail, it goes gradually, but once u notice it ur probably should get it fixed.

There is no sign to say it will gradually start going so, it could go any time.

On the timing belt, unless garage recipes are provided id straight away change it myself anyway.
