Travelling from Dublin airport T2 on Tues night to Clanbrassil street.

I welcome advice on my options.

I want to get there as fast as possible, but I'd prefer to use public transit.

The flight is scheduled to arrive at 21:55, then get to terminal, passport control, get out of terminal, walk to bus stops, outside T1???

    747 versus 16??

    The 747 departs at 22:10, 22:30, 22:50.

I might be able to get the 22:10, maybe?

The advantage of the 16 is that it goes via Kelly's Corner.

    16 departs at same times, 22:10, 22:30

How long would the 16 take to get to Clanbrassil after 10pm?

    Thanks so much.

On a busy Friday night, the second last 16 from the airport (leaves at 2230) often gets to the city around 2325.

Tuesday nights should not be busy, 2230 departure should be there earlier, around 2300-2310. 2210 should be there twenty minutes earlier than that again..

First of all the 747 also serves T2, so if you are in time for it go for the 22:10 747, it'll be outside T2 for about 22:13 or so. Take it to College Green and change to any of the 9, 16, 49, 54a, 68 or 122.

Otherwise, go with the 22:30 16 - any journey time saving that the Port Tunnel may offer will be negated by the elongated tour of the city centre that the 747 takes.

Journey times should be about 50-55 minutes.

Fastest way there would be by taxi

The 16 is how I'd do it as it cuts out a transfer for you whereas the 747 means a change of bus. However it will take a good 20-30 minutes longer to get into town than a 747 will.

Maybe take the 747 into town and alight at College Green and wait outside the Bank Bar; it's handy for the stops for almost all of the Clanbrassil Street buses; 9, 16, 54A, 68, and 122 stop there; even the 150 is good if you are close to O'Donovan Lane. If a second bus isn't coming soon or if tiredness kicks in then a taxi will get you home for another €7-€8 tops.

Thanks for info that 747 serves T2, I didn't even know that T2 has its own bus stops.

I think that I'll get the 747, and then a taxi.

So the 747 stops on College Green, great thanks.

It does - just follow the signs for the buses from arrivals, go down the escalator and then look out for the Airlink sign.

It starts at T1 and does a loop to serve T2.
