Going to Wembley in Sept for rugby world cup.Not a clue what part to book accommodation. Also going to be in the west end for a show and doing some sight seeing. Seeking cheap and cheerful- travellodge etc would be fine.

    Thanks.

Several Premier Inns and Ibis hotels around Wembley and Ealing.

Look them up and check their location and proximity to Underground/Rail stations.

honestly public transport is so good in london you can pretty much stay anywhere you want

for somewhere like wembley stadium i would recommend you stay close to marylebone station. there are travelodges/premier inns nearby. from marylebone its about a 9 minute train ride direct to wembley stadium (£2.70 one way with your oyster card). trains run about every 30 minutes..you could get the tube but it would take longer from central london http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/timesandfares/MYB/WCX/040815/1200/dep

marylebone is very convenient for west-end with the tube and buses. lots of good bars around that area too offering lunch deals such as The Metropolitan Bar

Cheap and cheerful and Rugby World Cup are not synonymous, especially this close. I suspect you will struggle to find central accommodation, bearing in mind people started booking last year or even before then. Start with a site like booking.com and just put in London and your dates and see what comes up in your price range. Then you'll have a list of areas to seek advice on.

Hotels in London are ridiculously expensive! ! Have you looked up airbnb?

It's basically an app where people rent out a room or their whole home! It can be very reasonable. Esp in London because of the tube you can basically look anywhere near a tube line!

Loads of my friends have used it and say they'll never book hotels for holidays or trips!! Have a look and see!
