Did the lap de gaps a few months ago for my first event. Loved it, lost weight as well. Have hardly been out since. Need a bit of incentive to get back on the saddle. Is there anything happening around Kildare Wicklow in the next month? Is there a list of upcoming events on any website? Thanks

Naas CC are running the Tour of Kildare on August 9th, while the Leinster Loop is a week later on August 16th, to mention 2 in your specified catchment area, and both are for charities. Otherwise check the CI calendar already posted.

Of these I've only done the TOK, which is largely flat (at least compared to some in Wicklow, for example), but has some fast sections as a result, and there are a few short sharp kicks of ascent in it also, e.g. the Wall. Of course most of these only crop up in the second half of the route as well, so you hit them with miles in the legs already!
