Maybe I haven't looked hard enough, but I can't find a thread on this.

Avid DIY-ers like myself have probably got some special tools stashed away. Now I'm not suggesting anyone lend this stuff out (because invariably it either never comes back or comes back broken), my suggestion is if you are in a position to help out other DIY-ers for a token beer, etc. to put you offers up and terms. It wouldn't be for advertising/commercial opportunities. It would be along the lines of lending yourself out and either coming over/going round to help out if you've time to spare with said tool or equipment.

    Example A:

    Offered:
    1) I've a clone Honda HDS/HIM and a laptop. If you're local to me and can arrange a suitable time, I can pop round and read the codes on Honda cars in exchange for tea/biscuits/beer. (No liability if it all goes wrong mind)

    2) If you want to get your own clone HDS/HIM up and running, I can offer advice and help you out on the above terms.

location: Co Kildare / West Co Dublin.

    Example B:

    Wanted:
    1) I need a spare pair of hands (feet) to help bleed the brakes. If anyone can spare a couple of hours, I'm offering a six-pack.

Would this kind of tool/help exchange idea have legs and be useful?

Totally fine as long as no money changes hands.
I'm available in Galway with regular tools and a helping hand.

Maybe should point out that this should be for people that are actually willing to DIY and learn, and not for people that wants something done on the cheap.
If the car breaks boards assume no responsibility whatsoever.

I'm a total beginner that's still at the "dreaming about it" stage but if anyone in the Clontarf / D3 area needs an extra pair of hands, I'd be happy to help however I can.

So, clueless labour on offer in exchange for anyone prepared to help me become slightly less clueless!
