    Hi,
I started a diet yesterday though I am loathe to call it a 'diet'.

So, I want to accelerate my metabolism and i'm eating the following for the next 10 days

    Snack: Apple
Breakfast: Egg x 2, brocolli & smoked salmon fritata
    Snack: Actimel
Lunch: lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber & chicken breast / tinned salmon
    Snack: grapes & berrries
Dinner: stir fried veg & chicken / fish

I'm going to exercise 2-3 times a week for 30 minutes.

In 10 days I'm going to introduce wholegrains again.

Is the above ok or do I need a bit longer than 10 days to 'detox'?

i've put on 1.5 stone & need to shake it off in the best possible way.

detoxing isn't a thing, you can't really speed up or boost your metabolism. if you want to lose weight, figure out how many calories you burn in a day (myfitnesspal can help there) and eat 3-500 fewer calories a day.

diet itself looks like it could do with a bit of fat. throw some nuts in, or drizzle some olive oil/butter on the stir fry... keeping an eye on the calories, obviously

You can increase your metabolism but it's not going to be by the type of foods you're eating , it's going to be by gaining weight (muscle or fat) , eating more , or exercising more. You're body will adapt to what you're doing and then over compensate.

best thing to do as said is to calculate how many calories you need a day , track your food so you see how many you are eating , and track your weight to see how adjusting things changes. It won't happen overnight , make some changes ,see how you're body adjust a week or two afterwards. Not losing enough weight , up the exercise or cut the calories , losing too much weight , eat some more. Weigh yourself every day and take a weekly average , weigh yourself at the same time, usually right after you wake up is the best. Your weight will fluctuate naturally due to water weight but the overall trend of the average will tell you if the diet is working.
