does anyone know how long a review(not appeal) for DA generally takes? I know an appeal can take months but surely a review will be considerably less?

Did you send more evidence? You should hear within 3 to 4 weeks

Yeah sent in more evidence. Had heard some stories of appeals taking in excess of 6 months so was a bit worried. Thanks

Here's what happened to my friend. She completed the review form for Disability Allowance in February 2014 and sent it off to Longford. She heard nothing but assumed everything was fine. However, she received a disallowance letter in January 2015 and had to appeal it. Her medical conditions had worsened in that time. I helped her with the appeal and the appeal was allowed in April/May 2015. It was a summary decision from the Appeals Office (no oral hearing necessary as the medical evidence was substantial).

I was refused too recently. I wanted to appeal the decision immediately but i just changed my mind to go for a review first. I just changed my GP due to change of location. I've got some new medical evidence and facts to support the review, but my GP insist he need to first see my medical history before he can write a letter, although he has requested for my medical records from my specialist and hospitals. But my worry is that my GP won't receive the requested medical history from the hospital before i send in my review.

Is it a good idea to send in a review along with my new medical evidence but without my GP's letter? What do you think?

Send it what you have and make a note saying 'gp's letter to follow' or just explain in writing (keep a copy) that your gp is awaiting files from your previous gp before he can write a letter for you.

I've sent in the review 2 months now but still no reply yet. Does review take long like this? What do you think is going on?

Generally they don't contact you to say you've passed the review only to tell you you have failed it. So after 6 weeks, i'd say everything is fine.

Two months is not a lot with that particular department tbh, you could ring them and ask if your case is due to be reviewed soon.

Anyone have idea what to expect on oral hearing day for disability allowance? Got my oral hearing date today for disability Allowance. We're going to meet in a hotel in few days. What to expect on the hearing day? Any idea how the hearing will go on? Do they ask for medical documents or what will they ask me there?
