I thought he was lucky tbh. He was getting mangled and looked terrible up until that punch. He did take his chance though and finished emphatically so fair dues to him for that. I'd love to see him fight Donaire.

I was very surprised by that match last night, I thought Kiko boxed well in the first. Next thing he was eating canvas

True, I'm not taking sky sports bull that he destroyed kiko, he walked into an uppercut

Looked extremely uncomfortable, shocked even, in the first. Would have been really interesting if Kiko had not of walked onto that killer upper cut. Frampton is also a good come forward pressure fighter, more confident now that he beats Quigg.

No matter what Quigg does some people just wont be impressed or be able to give him any credit. He lost the first round? so what? It's a 12 round fight and Quigg is usually a slow starter, the first round is usually a round to feel your opponent out. He demolished him in the second, he wiped out a tough ex world champion with ease. It was very impressive.

What's lucky about a perfectly thrown uppercut? It landed exactly where he wanted, that is not luck.

I was impressed. I didn't think the initail uppercut looked all that heavy. It must have been good enough, as that was the end of the fight. I was impressed with Quigg's finishing. He let go rapidly and fluidly, and closed the show in style. That is impressive. Tight and neat and good accuracy.

Kiko rd 1 was more a feel out for Quigg. He just needed to get settled. Kiko fights one way, and it probably upset Scott's rhythm a bit. That is all. Too much being made of rd 1. It was similar with Carl. He steamrolled Carl in the first few rds with pressure.

The punch wasn't lucky, he was. He was getting tarred, and looked very very vulnerable. I honestly thought Quigg had only a round or two left in him. But fair dues to him. I'm still not any more impressed by him though.

I didn't see that. I think Quigg came out with intent in rd 2. Let the shots go and stood ground a bit better. Kiko was pressuring hard, but not hurting Quigg. Kiko's shots had little behind them.

This is spot on, quigg absorbed the pressure and adjusted in the second..very impressive to get kiko out of there in the fashion he did.

What?...only had a round or two left it was the first round of the fight and quigg is one of the fittest guys out there.

If your not impressed by a guy that can make immediate adjustments between rounds and take out martinez like that then its hard to know what would impress you.

Couldn't agree more, quigg looked like he was done for, couldn't believe his luck when Martinez dropped, methinks the 2 frampton fights took their toll on kiko, he has had some tough fights against all the top euro sbw's and a some a bit further

good man pac, Quigg doesnt take a forward step until he hits kiko with his first shot - kiko doesnt take it too well for some reason, Frampton has hit him much harder than that, hell even feather fists Munroe has hit him harder

Let's put this conspiracy theory nonsense to bed. Kiko was hurt and was legitimately stopped. There was nothing suspect. You can see it clear as day when he gets tagged, and afterwards when Quigg closes the show. He may well have been hit harder by Carl, but so what?

No conspiracy, point being made that kiko is possibly shot, if he can't take a hit like that off quigg then one would have to ask why.

I think it speaks volumes when you look at the way quigg reacted when directed to a neutral corner for the count, he's like a little schoolboy who has just gotten away with not doing his homework

Fair enough. It just seemed from some posts that some were making out that Kiko almost took a dive. I would not be at all surprised if the two hard losses to Carl took an awful lot out of Kiko. He took a lot of punishment in both fights.

It's probably natural to react the way he did. One shot, and some follow ups and it's over. Quigg was rightfully a little shocked. Nothing to do with not doing his homework. Rd 1 was a feeler. Nothing of real note landed. Kiko just pushed Quigg back, that was it. Most of his punches had nothing on them, and were blocked or missed.
