I recently moved into a rental. I need broadband in and there is no ducting for it. As I am on a sloped field aerial wiring is not an option. I had the guy from KN Networks out but he was on to my landlord not me. I know I need to lay ducting, but as it is a long drive will I get away with laying the ducting under trafficked area and then tacking the cable to the wall behind laurels? I have tried to contact KN but they never got back to me. A seller from eircom called in on Friday however and suggested it.

Just want to be sure before I do anything!

First and foremost - Do not believe a word out of a door caller's mouth. They will lie and make sh1t up just to get you signed up, they get their commission and you will never hear from them again and you are left with some kind of mess that you will struggle endlessly to resolve. :(

Secondly - If you can, catch a KN guy, ask them what would be best as they will know. :)

Thirdly - Don't do anything without discussing it with your landlord and getting his/her permission - in writing. ;)

Finally - Do not believe a word out of a door caller's mouth. :D
