Just cancelled Sky

So I just cancelled my Sky sub after 15 years.

I know that some of the Sky HD boxes will work as a FTA box and some wont. My question is, is there a way to check if my box will work? If I take the card out will that let me know straight away? Just cancelled this morning so still have another 30 days service before cut off.

Also I`m using a magic eye for the upstairs tv. I presume this will still work if I get the FTA channels through the Sky box downstairs(ie its not related to your sub)?

Take the card out and reboot (unplug) the box. That will show you exactly what you have left. It should not affect your magic eye.

With the newer boxes (from the last couple of years) I dont think that will work. A UK Sky card will be needed afaik.

Yeah just tried it there and don't get the English EPG. Still the Irish with a few channels fta but the likes of channel 4 still scrambled for some reason.

Get yourself a Sky freesat card here...only a few euros.

No connection to the seller other than I bought a couple of cards from him in the past.

With the card you'll get the ITV 1, 2, 3 & 4 channels, The Channel 5 group, Ch4 HD (I think), various BBC channels etc etc

The Channel 4 on Irish EPG's has always been encrypted so they can block some programmes
