    Hey everyone,

So I'm interested in taking up golf, but before I go out and join a club/buy a load of gear etc, I'd like to get a few lessons to see if I've any sort of feel for the sport.

I'd one lesson years ago (must be about ten years) and the pro involved spent the entire time going on about grip, I'm double jointed, and could not cope with the prescribed grip.

Can anyone recommend someone to go to in the North County Dublin area for general lessons?

Near Swords Kinsealy Grange would be a good bet for lessons http://www.kinsealy-grange.com

Thanks, am I right in thinking I just show up and don't need a bag of kit?

Generally people bring clubs, but if you ring them and tell them you don't have clubs they can probably sort you out. I wouldn't just show up with no clubs though.

Fingal Golf Centre beside the Coachmans Inn has a very impressive setup. I don't know if they supply clubs but I know a couple of people who have got lessons there and they were generally very happy with the service.

The driving range is affiliated to McGuirks Golf so they have all the demo clubs there. Generally for lessons they'll start you off with a 6 iron but they have drivers there also.

I use Anthony Martin in Kinsealy. He's good, keeps it simple, doesn't overload you with too many ideas.

Krishna in Hollywood Lakes is good too I hear.

So I asked in my local and they sent me down to Roganstown, which is very convenient for me, and I'd my first lesson today with Sue Bamford who supplies clubs

She was great, very patient, especially when I fluffed it, and very encouraging when I hit anything even slightly decent.

    I really enjoyed it :)

I'm to go and practice there :)
