The celebrations are in full swing here in Galway.

We're throwing samosas and dream catchers up in the air in victory.

We can't remember which Indians we were liberated from.

The Ice Age isn't over yet...

And when it does end, it won't happen over 24 hours, there isn't a single date!

It's the day when, in 1992, the Italian prosecutor Paolo Borsellino was killed by a bomb car placed outside his mother's house. When he went to visit her on that Sunday afternoon (it was a Sunday 23 years ago too) the bomb went off and killed him and his bodyguards.
In that very day the woman who two years later became my wife sent me a postcard from a mountain location.
That's why it's so familiar to you :D

The Ice age ended 11,718 years ago.

    http://politiken.dk/newsinenglish/ECE611464/danish-arctic-research-dates-ice-age/
A Danish ice drilling project has conclusively ended the discussion on the exact date of the end of the last ice age.

The extensive scientific study shows that it was precisely 11,711 years ago - and not the indeterminate figure of ‘some’ 11,000 years ago – that the ice withdrew, allowing humans and animals free reign.

Are you sure you don't mean the last glaciation?

The ice age was still going when I went to bed last night! It has been doing so for over two million years.

Sure that can't be true Ted, the world was created on October 23, 4004 BC.

Thanks our screwing up the atmosphere we've pushed back an other ice age by about 500,000 million years.
