    Curragh 3.45pm

    Raydara

Backed this horse at long odds to the Epsom Oaks and was a little disappointed with its run in the Irish 1000 Guineas.

It's form seemed quite robust last year and there is a line of form where it beat Qualify.

Dropped in grade slightly and I guess will find out tomorrow if its trained on or I can't read a form book

Giving it another chance - 11/2 with Lads seems reasonable to win, but very good for each way, although my confidence in the horse has been dented, so won't be having as much on this time.

I had a big bet on Gordon Lord Byron last time out, when it dropped into listed company in what looked to me like very mediocre company. Sunday sees it out against more competitive and familiar opposition, and I fully expect it to get beat again. Reckon this race will be decided between my pick (Flight Risk) and Sovereign Debt. Can't see much to split those two, other than the fact that Flight Risk is 16/1 and Sovereign Debt only 5/1.

Boring I know, but I cannot see past the favourite Brooch in the big race of the day at the Curragh at 11/4. Despite the fact that going is officially listed as good for that day, and officially listed as good tomorrow - my eyes tell me that the ground was on the firm side for when it got beat last time. Despite a firming of ground today, it still looked on the soft side and I'd expect it to ease a little bit more thank to the band of rain that is supposed to hit tonight.

Absolutely hate backing Tony Martin horses, but the run that Encrypted Message put in last time was very eye catching and suggested to me that better things were to come.

    Ceylon 22-1 ew 4.50
Two disappointing runs last two reflected in the price. I
think it's better that and I like its EW chance here.
It has run competitively against some of these already this year.
