    Hey all,

Sorry now if this sounds like a silly question but just moved into an apt block here there is a communal sat dish and a fibre irs quad box with lead coming into sitting room.. I was told that the quad box will auto power when cables are connect to sky box but nothing is happening, as not power cable to be found.. Can any one shed some light on how i could free to air channels into apt without having to pay sub..

    thanks :-(

Have you connected coaxial cable(s) between the 'quad box' & your satellite receiver's LNB-in port(s)? I believe the 'quad box' is more properly termed a 'GTU' (Gateway Termination Unit if I'm not mistaken.)

And yes, the power for the GTU is provided by the receiver, via the coaxial cables that also carry the signal from GTU to receiver.

Yeah you are right.. Thanks for response. There doesnt seem to be any power coming out of the gtu though, Just getting no signal sign on the telly from sky.
